My motivational speaking is based on the belief that everyone needs a role model and that it is no different for people living with disABILITIES. It is also very important for me to educate the general public on disABILITY awareness and to show people that just because I am living with a disABILITY that doesn't mean I am a disABILITY. I am a person first and I am living with a disABILITY second, it is just a part of my life story.
From school presentations to conferences and in-services I am able to relate to people and provide educational information and inspiration all with humor. Hey I am the first one the laugh at myself when I fall out of my wheelchair! Often times people are uncertain how to interact with a person if they have a disABILITY and one of my goals is to educate people that folks living with a disABILITY are just folks like them. We may use a wheelchair, walker or service dog but we are still people just like them.
Having been able-bodied and working with persons living with disABILITIES my adult life I got first hand training (to add to the college degrees I have) that I now am able to apply to my own life and share with others.
I would welcome the opportunity to deliver the best presentation for your needs.
